Not to out myself as someone that’s been on tumblr for too long, but I’m so sad to see this new trend of people saying “I like this thing, even though the show isn’t airing anymore.” Like? That’s how things work! Keep enjoying them! Fanfic preferences

Most of the people I follow seem to write character x reader fanfic (eg Dean Winchester and “you” or “me” or “Y/N”) and I got the impression that Tumblr was big on that. I hadn’t really seen it as a genre before joining Tumblr, but I picked it up here because it seemed to be the thing people wanted. But then I’ve also started seeing some real hatred for x reader fanfic, which I haven’t seen for OC (but maybe there’s hatred for that too and I just haven’t seen it). So I’m interested to know:

When reading fanfic, do you prefer

x OC (original character) fanfic

canon characters only fanfic

I don’t mind so long as it’s well written
